Happy Birthday Mom

With a new year starts the beginning of birthdays once again.  I have to get my creative juices flowing for birthday cakes.  My mom's birthday is in January.  Last year I did a sun cake for her.  It was so cute.  My mom has been wanting a New Car really bad.  We joked around for awhile about a new car for Christmas and then for her birthday.  So I decided I would make her a Car Cake.  We had the missionaries over for a yummy Carne Asada dinner and to celebrate. It was a fun day.  Happy Birthday Mom.  You are the best!  We Love You.

Roderick gave my mom some new cozy crocs.

Maya gave her a puzzle.

Lexi gave her a new mixer.

My dad loves to give flowers.  What a cute couple

Best Friends Forever

For Christmas my mom put her amazing sewing skills to work and made her best friend a really cute quilt.  Lori is a die hard Boston Red Socks Fan.  She was so surprised and absolutely loved it.  I am so glad they have each other as friends.  We love Lori and her family.  They do so much for our family.

Let it snow!

Well it finally decided to snow.  The kids were so excited.  I guess I was also excited because I put on all of my snow gear and went out and played with them.  We built a snowman and made a track in the front yard and went sledding down it.  The kids had a blast. My amazing mom had almost the entire driveway shoveled by the time we even woke up.  Roderick ran out to help and decided that my mom could handle her driveway so he could go shovel the neighbors driveway. What a guy.  He sure makes me laugh sometimes.  The kids really want it to snow again and I reassured them that when Uncle Cody comes to visit in a few weeks it will snow again since they tend to bring the snow from Las Vegas every time they visit.  =)

Happy New Year!

News Years was pretty laid back this year.  Rodrigo made his famous Rib dinner which was delicious as usual. And then we made some yummy scones.   We invited some friends over and played the Wii and Kinect.  The guys sure where showing there competitive side.  May I remind you that Rodrigo only got his tonsils out a few days before Christmas and he was determined to win.  It was a lot of fun.  The kids had a good time counting down and shouting Happy New Year and running around the house.  I think we all climbed into bed about 1:00.  It sure was hard waking up and getting everyone ready for 9:00 church after New Years Eve but we managed o.k.  I am anxious and excited to see what the New Year brings.

Another Lost Tooth

Well Miss Lexi has lost another tooth.  Last Saturday we were at Roderick's  soccer game and she was eating a snack and that little tooth didn't want to stay in any longer.  Her teeth sure seem to fall out a lot faster when they are loose compared to her brother.  His were loose forever.  She has been learning to read and her books contain lots of S sounds.  With both her two front teeth missing it makes it a little harder.

Maya is so proud of her sister.

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!  We sure did.  The kids woke up about 7:00 and were so happy to see that Santa didn't forget them at there new house.  We got ready and went to church, the choir did the program and it was amazing.  I love when Christmas falls on Sunday it makes the day so special.  We came home and opened presents ate a delicious Christmas dinner.  We went outside and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and let off balloons for him.  Roderick came up with this idea last year and I thought it would be a great family tradition for us.
The kids waiting for me to say, "go" so they could see what Santa brought them.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve morning one of our dear neighbors brought us this adorable gingerbread house.  The kids were so full of excitement and wanted to eat it right away but I made them wait a couple of days.  I told them that to much work goes into making these kind of houses and that we needed to enjoy it for a little bit.  That night we went up to my aunts church where we had dinner, played some games and the kids acted out the nativity.  It was really fun.  When we got home the kids sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn, opened there PJ's and got themselves into bed practically.  This is one night that bedtime is so easy, they are so willing to go to sleep.

This was a really fun game.  We had to blow up balloons and then stuff them into panty hose to make the look like Rudolph.

Rodrigo got his tonsils out a couple of days before Christmas.  He was such a trooper  going to the party with us.
