Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve morning one of our dear neighbors brought us this adorable gingerbread house.  The kids were so full of excitement and wanted to eat it right away but I made them wait a couple of days.  I told them that to much work goes into making these kind of houses and that we needed to enjoy it for a little bit.  That night we went up to my aunts church where we had dinner, played some games and the kids acted out the nativity.  It was really fun.  When we got home the kids sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn, opened there PJ's and got themselves into bed practically.  This is one night that bedtime is so easy, they are so willing to go to sleep.

This was a really fun game.  We had to blow up balloons and then stuff them into panty hose to make the look like Rudolph.

Rodrigo got his tonsils out a couple of days before Christmas.  He was such a trooper  going to the party with us.

Temple Square

A week before Christmas we decided to take the kids to temple square to see the lights.  They were amazing as usual.  It was freezing cold but well worth it.  My dad had to have surgery on his good foot a couple of weeks ago and during surgery they hurt his ribs and stomach muscles.  The poor man can hardly walk without being in tons of pain.  He is such a trooper and came with us.  We got him a wheelchair and I am so glad that we did.  By the time we got back to the car he was hurting pretty bad.

Surprise!

While I was away with Rodrigo getting his tonsils out on Wed I came home to this....

I walked in the door to pick the girls up and there she was with a missing tooth.  I have been in shock ever since.  Probably because I had no idea that her tooth was even loose and I am not really ready for her to start growing up.  I know I need to get over that part but I really am having a hard time with that.  She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come she got herself in bed at 7:00.  When she woke up she couldn't believe that the tooth fairy really came.  She woke everyone in the house up with her excitement.

Grandpa's Christmas Tradition

Every year my dad gives each one of us a ornament for the Christmas Tree along with poem that he writes.  He is an awesome writer.  This year he decided to give them to us a little early so we could enjoy them on the tree.  We love this tradition and will cherish it forever.  Dad you are amazing and thank you for all your love and wonderful poetry.

Gingerbread Men Count down to Christmas

The kids had a really great time making the gingerbread men this year.  We decorated them a little different this year than last but they turned out cute.  I decided to have the kids take turns getting a cookie instead of everyone getting a cookie everyday.  At first it was hard but now they get excited when its there day.  We went through the calendar and put there names on what day would be able to have a cookie.  The kids also decided whoever s day it is to eat the cookie they get to say the prayer at dinner time.  This has been wonderful and now we don't have daily fights on who gets to say it.  This is such a fun tradition for our family .

50th Wedding Anniversary

My Aunt Sharon and Uncle Kent celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last weekend. Amazing!!  We made a little trip down to Levan to see my Dad's side of the family.  It was so good to see my cute little grandma and all of my Cousins and Aunt and Uncles.  I love them so much.  They always put such a big smile on my face.  We don't get to see them as often as I would like, but when we get together it is such a good time.  Congratulations on so many happy years.
