Time Out for Women

My mom took me to Time Out with her best friend Lori and her daughter Megan for my birthday.  It was our first time going and it was such a blast.  It was amazing.  Sheri Dew, Michael Wilcox, Brad Wilcox, Hillary Weeks, Jericho Road and Stephanie Nielson were some of the speakers and singers.  I felt so refreshed and inspired to be a better person and I left knowing that I can become whatever my heart desires.  What an awesome boost.  The part I loved the most was being with my beautiful and amazing mom who always puts everyone before herself.  It was so nice being with just her and enjoying a much needed break from life.  Thanks mom for spending the weekend with me.  I Love You.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we went to Aunt Jenny's church for Thanksgiving.  It was really fun and the food was fabulous.  After we ate we helped the kids do some cute gingerbread houses, bottle cap Christmas Tree ornaments and some advent calendars while the guys sat around the table and checked out the Black Friday ads.  The kids loved it and did a really good job.  It has been a tradition since my mom was little to do a Christmas craft after Thanksgiving dinner.  The kids played some fun games.  A friendly basketball game finally knocked Roderick's front tooth out.  We have been trying to get that tooth out for months.  I love when the entire family gets together for holidays.  It only happens about every other year but it sure is fun when we get together.  We sure missed my brother and his family this year.

Cub Scouts

Roderick is now in Cub Scouts and he loves it.  He has an awesome Den Leader and he loves her. They have made him feel so welcome and loved.  We had our first pack meeting on Wednesday and he received his bobcat award.  The Scout Master painted his face to welcome him into the pack. Way to go Roderick.  We are so proud of you.  Keep up the good work!!

Happy Birthday!

While my brother was visiting we celebrated my birthday and my nephew Gavin's birthday.  It was so fun to be together to celebrate.  I am always going to love his birthday next to mine.  What a great gift having him in my life. I made him a baseball cake with the help of Liz.  Liz made me a rainbow cake.  It was delicious and so cute!  Thank you so much!  My mom made my Grandma's famous cheesy potatoe soup and taco soup.  It was so good and brought back so many memories.  During the day the girls went to Paradise Bakery for lunch and did a little shopping.  I had such a wonderful day!

Rodericks Baptism

Roderick turned 8 this year and made the decision to be baptized.  I couldn't ask for a more perfect day.  We were so blessed to have lots of friends and family enjoy this special day with us.  My brother came down from Las Vegas to baptize Roderick and Liz gave a wonderful talk on baptism.  The entire day was filled with such an amazing spirit.  Roderick looked so handsome and he had such a glow about him that I couldn't get enough of.  We were able to share the special day with my cousins little girl Brooklynn who was also baptized.  The awesome thing about this was that Roderick and Brooklynn were blessed together on the same day as well.  I am sad because I didn't get a picture of them together.  We felt so blessed to have so many friends come see us from our old neighborhood.  We miss them so much.  I am so proud of Roderick for the choices he is making in life and the example he is to me and all that are around him.

Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun time this year for Halloween. We went trunk or treating with Brenda and J.D. Then we came back home and went to a few houses in the neighborhood.  I think the kids actually had a great time passing the candy out to the kids. Rodrigo and I decided to even dress up this year.  We couldn't of asked for better weather.  It was great!
