Cub Scouts

Roderick is now in Cub Scouts and he loves it.  He has an awesome Den Leader and he loves her. They have made him feel so welcome and loved.  We had our first pack meeting on Wednesday and he received his bobcat award.  The Scout Master painted his face to welcome him into the pack. Way to go Roderick.  We are so proud of you.  Keep up the good work!!

Happy Birthday!

While my brother was visiting we celebrated my birthday and my nephew Gavin's birthday.  It was so fun to be together to celebrate.  I am always going to love his birthday next to mine.  What a great gift having him in my life. I made him a baseball cake with the help of Liz.  Liz made me a rainbow cake.  It was delicious and so cute!  Thank you so much!  My mom made my Grandma's famous cheesy potatoe soup and taco soup.  It was so good and brought back so many memories.  During the day the girls went to Paradise Bakery for lunch and did a little shopping.  I had such a wonderful day!

Rodericks Baptism

Roderick turned 8 this year and made the decision to be baptized.  I couldn't ask for a more perfect day.  We were so blessed to have lots of friends and family enjoy this special day with us.  My brother came down from Las Vegas to baptize Roderick and Liz gave a wonderful talk on baptism.  The entire day was filled with such an amazing spirit.  Roderick looked so handsome and he had such a glow about him that I couldn't get enough of.  We were able to share the special day with my cousins little girl Brooklynn who was also baptized.  The awesome thing about this was that Roderick and Brooklynn were blessed together on the same day as well.  I am sad because I didn't get a picture of them together.  We felt so blessed to have so many friends come see us from our old neighborhood.  We miss them so much.  I am so proud of Roderick for the choices he is making in life and the example he is to me and all that are around him.

Happy Halloween!

We had such a fun time this year for Halloween. We went trunk or treating with Brenda and J.D. Then we came back home and went to a few houses in the neighborhood.  I think the kids actually had a great time passing the candy out to the kids. Rodrigo and I decided to even dress up this year.  We couldn't of asked for better weather.  It was great!

Absent

Some of you may be wondering where I have been.  I was trying to post something once a week for my brother and his family and for all of you that follow my blog.  We don't have the Internet anymore and the only chance I get to post something is when we go to my moms house.  We don't go as often as I would like and when we do go I am always playing or chasing the kids around.  So today I was making it a point to post some things and got all the way to my mom's and realized that I had forgot my camera.  I would much rather post with pictures.  We have been so busy.

Roderick is busy with soccer.  He is playing on two teams right now.  He is really loving it.  His team won the Championship and they were presented with a huge trophy and medals once more.  They are doing so well.  He is off track right now and we are having a really great time.  He has been such a great helper with his sisters and really helping with the house work so mom has more time to play with him.

Lexi sure has been busy with preschool and dance.  She is learning so much.  She has learned all the letters of the Alphabet and can write both Alexandra and Lexi.  She loves doing projects with paper and string and tape and ribbon.  She does a project at least once a day and has to take it to school with her.  The last one she took the teachers thought it was amazing and they took her project to the district offices so they could hang it up there.  She got a special little Valentine from a boy named Alex.  Is that really supposed to happen in Preschool???  =)   He gave her a little stuffed bear wearing a heart sweater. It was pretty cute when he gave it to her.  She thought it was pretty neat that a boy loved her.  She is so excited to go to Kindergarten next year.

Maya is busy learning from her brother and sister.  I just got her enrolled in preschool for the fall.  I can't believe that my kids are growing up so fast.  She has hit a growing spurt the last couple of weeks and she is a few inches shy of being as tall as Lexi.  She is really starting to love the idea of being a Sunbeam.  She told me that next week she won't be scared and she would let me go to my own class.  We will see if that really happens.

Rodrigo and I are still doing the same old thing.  Rodrigo is working very hard and some long hours.  He is training with Roderick every night on there Soccer skills.  I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary of being a stay at home mom!!  I can not believe it.  I have learned so many things this last year.  That will have to be a separate post.  I have been baking and trying out tons of new recipes and also I am taking sewing classes with my mom.  So far I have made aprons for my girls.  I am really enjoying it.

Well I hope you all enjoyed the update next week I will try and post some pics.
